Keep the Bandage On as Directed
Your tattoo artist will cover your fresh tattoo with a bandage or protective wrap. This barrier protects the area from bacteria, dirt, and friction.
- Leave the bandage on for 2–6 hours, or as instructed
- Do not remove it too early
- Avoid touching the tattoo with unwashed hands
Gently Clean the Tattoo
Once the bandage is removed, gently wash the tattoo:
- Use lukewarm water
- Choose a mild, fragrance-free antibacterial soap
- Clean using clean hands only (no sponges or cloths)
- Pat the area dry with a clean paper towel. Do not rub.
After cleaning and drying:
- Apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare ointment or unscented moisturizer
- Avoid petroleum-heavy products unless recommended by your artist
- Less is more—over-application can clog pores
- This step keeps the skin hydrated and supports healing.
